Playing catch up
I just realized that it has been almost a month since I last blogged. I apologize. Our lives have been turned upside down in a matter of weeks. I guess it was close to a month ago that Drew had to go to St. Louis on business. I was approximately 6 months pregnant at that time and being by myself for 3 entire days with the 2 boys was rough. My belly had just popped and it was getting difficult for me to bend over and do things such as laundry and give baths. Drew came home for 4 days and had to go away again on business. This time he was heading to NJ to interview for a position in Pennsauken. I never dreamed of coming back to NJ so this was a once in a lifetime opportunity. Meanwhile, Josh was getting sick. We decided to take him to the pediatrician on the Sunday that Drew left and he was diagnosed with walking pneumonia. He had a really bad cough at this point and an ear infection so he was given amoxil. I was nervous about taking care of a sickly 1 year old and a healthy 5 year old without the help of Daddy. Monday came and Josh was getting worse. I ended up taking him back to the Dr. and he was diagnosed with bronciolitis. i was told to give him neb treatments to help with his cough and wheeze. When we got home from the pediatrician's office things became progressively worse. I ended up calling the ped. back at 10:30 at night because I felt helpless. The neb treatments were not making Josh's breathing any less labored and he could not stop coughing. I ended up calling 911 and taking him to the emergency room. Because we have no family around and Drew was in NJ, we were by ourselves. I was very scared at this point needless to say. My neighbor's mom met us at the hospital thank goodness. I turned down her offer but I am so glad she showed up. She really put me at ease and she gave us a ride home (otherwise I have NO idea how we would have gotten home). In the hospital Josh was diagnosed with RSV along with bronciolitis. RSV is a virus that attacks the lungs which is why he was having such trouble breathing. Once Josh's fever came down we were discharged. I had called my mom when I decided to call 911 and luckily she got in her car and drove to Mass in the middle of the night. I don't think I would have gotten through this whole ordeal without her. I hadn't slept in over 48 hours, and even though she couldn't help much with Josh because all he wanted was Mommy, she was able to help with Jared and with household chores. All of this happened the night/morning before Drew's interview. I don't know how he did it but he must have pulled himself together enough to make an impression and he got the job!!! Drew begins his new position as controller on April 12th. As I type this I am sitting at my mom's house because we are in NJ for our second house hunting trip. Last weekend we looked at over 60 houses and this weekend we looked at a few new ones and went in some for the 2nd and 3rd time. We actually think we may have found one! We put in an offer, they counter offered and then they accepted our counter offer. We are just waiting on specifics. My due date is June 6th and it is fast approaching. We would love to be in the house before then and we are hoping that we can settle on this house possibly the 2nd week of May. On top of all of this I have sold my camera and feel lost without being able to document any of this! I am looking to upgrade my camera in the next few weeks. All of this has happened in a very short period of time and I have become very tired. I just cannot wait to be settled and simply waiting for our baby to arrive. I will continue this blog even though we are moving back to NJ so have no fear. I need a place to put all of the baby pics I will be taking after all :)
