Wednesday

On Wednesday morning my friend, Jackie, came to visit with her little girl, Mackenzie. She is too cute for words!

NJ Visit

We were in NJ all last week for Thanksgiving. Luckily, Drew had some vacation days to take so we were able to spend the entire week visiting. It was so nice to be "home". Our week was jam packed with visiting and spending time with family and friends. On Monday the Mom Mom's came with myself and the boys to G-Boys in Marlton. We walked around the Christmas display and both boys really enjoyed it. I remember going there every year when I was little. I don't have any pictures because I decided to leave my camera home.

On Tuesday Drew and I took the boys to Spread Your Wings in Mantua.

Big Brother

Words cannot describe what I felt when I walked into the living room and saw this. Jared has been being a very good big brother lately. Now that Josh can wrestle and play better with Jared I think Jared has grown to love his brother even more. Jared told Josh he could put his head on his shoulder as they were watching their "night night show". It was so cute when Jared told me that his shoulder was beginning to hurt because of Josh's heavy head.

Christmas Outfit

We had our family holiday photos taken a couple of weeks ago in the same "field" (someone's front yard actually) that I had taken Josh to to take pictures. Our session was cut short because we were yelled at for trespassing on someone's property. I honestly thought the house was abandoned. We were not able to get any pictures of just the boys so when we got home the light in my backyard was so nice I had to snap a few pictures of Josh playing in the leaves. Jared had gone to the store with Drew so he was off the hook :)

Turkey Day Preparation

We will be headed to NJ next Monday to spend the week of Thanksgiving. We will be eating at my mom's this year. There will be a total of 10 people so I thought it might be cute to come up with a place marker idea. My dear friend and neighbor, Kim, is an elementary school teacher so she always has so many cute ideas. She came over this past Sunday and we worked on "Turkey pots". We used foam and traced the boys' hands to use for the feathers. The turkey body is also cut from foam. After assembling one I decided to wait and assemble the others when I get to NJ b/c it would be a pain in the butt to transport 10 turkeys without damaging them.

Halloween 2009

Drew's dad asked him to accompany him to the NASCAR race in Alabama Halloween weekend. Since I was going to be alone for a few nights, my mom was nice enough to take a trip to MA to spend a long weekend with us. I was very excited that I wouldn't be alone and that she would be able to see the boys dressed up. Jared chose to be Bumblebee from Transformers and we recycled Jared's Superman costume from Jared. I made a jack-o-latern sandwich for Jared's lunch and they boys both ate mummy dogs for dinner. We went trick or treating at the mall once again. This was the first time Josh was allowed to have a taffy and let me tell you he LOVED it!!!

Train Tracks

I have been wanted to take the boys' picture on the tracks for some time now. I have been waiting until the fall leaves were in full effect. My friend, Melissa, had the same idea in mind so we were both keeping our eyes on the trees. There was an unseasonably warm day so off we went. The trees in the spot we were in, unfortunately, had lost a lot of their leaves. We could go any further since there was an open spot of tracks with only water below. We were not about to talk over that with the kids. I was very surprised when Jared was scared to walk on the tracks. He did not want up to put the little kids on them for fear a train would come. He finally gave in and joined us. I was able to bribe him enough for him to smile for the camera. I was really happy with what I got. These are the pictures that I used to send out to family and friends in lieu of the Halloween costume pictures.

Halloween Preview

This seems a tad bit late since we are in November but better late than never huh? I wanted to take the boys outside for some Halloween costume pictures. I always send a picture to close family members and friends along with a Halloween card. Well, this year it didn't happen that way. Jared did not cooperate and instead of putting on his costume to get his picture taken, he threw a temper tantrum. Josh and I left him in the house and went in our neighbor's backyard to take pictures. My neigbor, also the owner of our house, has a large lot of land and I thought it would be cute to let Josh run and snap some pics of him in action. He was Superman afterall.

Just Josh eating pudding.

Way back when . . .

in the beginning of October, we took the boys to pick pumpkins. This was our first time at this particular farm and we had a good time. We walked through a corn maze that was in the shape of a castle. We were completely lost until some nice family, who knew where they were, allowed us to follow them out. I did get nervous at one point thinking we would be in there for hours. We went on a hayride but could not stop at the pumpkin patch because of the heavy rains we had received the day before. The boys were able to pick out a small sugar pumpkin at the conclusion of the ride. Jared rode a pony and we looked at some chickens and goats. The weather was beautiful that day which made for a very enjoyable morning out.

My poor, neglected blog.

I apologize for being soooo behind on posts here. I have no excuse.
