Brotherly Love

The other day I was getting dinner together and the boys were out on the deck. The door was open so I could hear them. The cutest conversation took place and it went like this.

Jared: "Josh, do you want to play together? I'll play with you. I ask you if you want to play and you are supposed to say yes!"

They are starting to play together and it is so cute! I actually took these pictures only because Jared asked me to. I had put Josh down for a nap and he wasn't ready so he cried for about 5 minutes. Jared kept telling me to go up and get him because he had a surprise for him. The surprise was the sliding board so when I got Josh out of his crib and he started to play on the slide, Jared got behind him and told me to take a picture. I couldn't get my camera fast enough!!!

Kaden and Josh

This was one day last week when I was watching Kaden. We have this pumpkin that is a jack-in-the-box and the boys were cracking up laughing at it. I didn't get the camera going until the end but it is still funny. Kaden was really scared by it in the beginning.

Daddy's trash picking find

Drew came home from work yesterday with a sliding board. I have been looking for one of these little tikes sliding boards on Craig's List ever since I took the boys to the play place in the mall. Josh loved going down the slide and I thought a slide this size would be perfect. The boys were ecstatic! I just wish Drew would have waited until after dinner to bring it in the house.

Family Project

Jared's teacher sent home a project for the family to do to hang on the bulletin board outside of their classroom. Our family had to decorate an apple using any craft supplies we had around the house. You could include a picture (right up my alley) or anything else that you wanted displayed. I had this yarn from when I decided I wanted to learn to crochet (as you can see I still have the yarn). I thought it was perfect for the apple since it was somewhat red. I was happy with the way it turned out. As you can tell, I ended up doing most of the work but it is a family project so I guess that isn't a bad thing :)

First day of preschool

Jared started his 2nd year of preschool today. I had a difficult time sleeping last night as if I were the one starting school. Jared is a late sleeper so it was an early start to the morning this morning when i had to wake him up at 7:00am. Jared usually rolls out of bed around 9:00. He was very good about getting dressed and brushing his teeth right away. I allowed him to watch some TV while he ate his breakfast. I also had to wake up Josh because he usually sleeps until a little after 8:00. Drew went into work late so he could drop Jared off too. Jared was a trooper and was a very brave boy. He made us very proud. He did start to get upset right before we walked out the door so we put his blankie in his backpack just in case he needed it. His teacher said he had a great day. He even took the notes to the office! The new Transformer back pack.
Kaden (our neighbor) was with us because I babysit on Mondays and Thursdays.
Jared walked into school with no problem :)

Can you stand it?

He is one of the cutest boys ever!!! This is right in front of our house behind one of the shrubs. The gutter must be clogged because every time it rains hard, the water pours out of the gutter causing erosion of our landscaping. Josh thinks it is the best thing ever. I was trying to get the dirt and mulch out of the driveway but as you can see Josh put a stop to that. He loves playing with cleaning supplies! This is one time I loved my 50mm lens. I finally got a shot in focus.

Boat Ride

One of Drew's employees, Doug, has a boat and invited us to go out on it. He lives in Webster, Mass. There is a lake right across the street from his house. The lake is huge and beautiful. It is recreational so we were able to use the wakeboard, tube and knee board. Drew tried all three but I decided to stay dry on the boat. The water was warm but the air was very chilly. We were on the boat from about 10:30am until about 5:30pm! The boys hung in there. I wish I could have gotten pics of the beautiful surroundings but it was difficult to get any shots because Josh had to be held onto the entire time. Doug's wife, Kristen, was thoroughly impressed with Josh's "sea legs". I assume since he is a little off balance at all times the rocking of the boat kept him steady!

Josh eating a snack as always.

Attempting to take the keys.

Drew and Jared tubing.

Doug was nice enough to let Jared drive the boat. He did farely well.

Jared was in his Glory!

Please Touch Museum

While we were in NJ, I wanted to get the boys to the Please Touch Museum in Philadelphia. I have taken Jared there when he was younger but it was not at the same location. Since they have moved the location, it is MUCH bigger and better. The kids had a blast. Mom Mom Kathy and Juliana accompanied us.

My poor neglected blog

We have been in NJ for 3 weeks and I am finally getting through all of the pictures. Mom Mom Kathy was so kind to fly up to Mass only to drive down to NJ the very next day so that I would not have to drive alone with the boys. It worked out really well and was a very smooth ride. We had such a good time while in NJ. We were able to visit with a lot of family and friends.
Here are some of the very fun things we did while we were there.

Had fun hanging out in Mom Mom Bonnie's basement/playroom with Braydon.
Spent some quality time with the people that we miss the most! Aunt Pammy and Braydon!!!

Had dinner with Kingsway friends ~ Maureen, Betty and Sumana.
I was so glad that Jared and Ella got to spend some time with each other!!! They had so much fun playing "action figures".

So happy together!!!
We swam in Jenny's pool on several occasions.

Josh got his first skinned toe while walking around Jenny's pool.
This is also his first skinned knee.
Swimming with Kallie.

Hanging out with Juliana. She kept saying, "Look Aunt Karen. Josh is walking!"
Celebrated Braydon's 1st b-day a little early since we were going to miss his real b-day party.

Ate b-day cupcakes. Yum!!!
Happy Birthday Braydon!!!
Wrestled before bed.
Hung out on Mom Mom Bonnie's deck.
Swam some more.

Swam in Aunt Jill's pool too.
Chased dogs.
Wore Mom Mom Bonnie's curlers.
Bothered Mom Mom Bonnie's cat.
Visited with the Players. This is Jason.
Barb and Josh.
