Happy Birthday Josh!

We had such a nice day today. Mom Mom Kathy and Pop Pop are visiting and Drew took off of work. We went to the Providence Children's Museum with the kids. It is such a neat place to take kids Jared and Josh's age. I will be posting some pics very soon.

Play Date

We are having a play date today with a friend, Melissa, who is also a photographer. Kim, myself and Melissa all ordered new rolls of seamless paper so we are going to her house this afternoon to "play" and take pictures. I am very excited to see what we get. Jared may have to be bribed - I just checked and I only have one $1 in my wallet. Uh oh. I could probably sneek some ones out of his bank?! Is that bad? What we will do for a picture :)

Praying for Stellan

If you have not heard about the 5 month old, Stellan, you have to check out his mom's blog. www.mycharmingkids.net I have been following it from the beginning and it is a sad, eye opening ordeal. I cry hysterically every time I read an entry, however, it really makes me thank my lucky stars for all that I have in my life. Jared knows that I read about this little boy that we don't even know and he doesn't understand a lick of it. I try to explain to him that we need to be very thankful that we are all healthy because there are plenty of people out there that are not. Eventhough Drew and I yell at Jared for not picking up his toys and get frustrated over the little things, I often think of Stellan and it really puts things into perspective. Stellan's mom asked for people to wear orange (Stellan's favorite color) today in support of his surgery. We did and sent this picture to their blog.

This morning

Jared is congratulating Josh on his climb.

How sweet is this??

Jared and Josh were playing so good together. First, as soon as Josh heard Jared upstairs (Jared is always the last one out of bed) he was like a speed racer crawling over to the steps. Josh looked over at me, smiled, and began crawling up the steps. I have yet to capture this on camera so I grabbed my camera and ran to the steps. I was scared to death taking his picture because I wanted to be right there to catch him if he fell. Thank goodness that didn't happen. Jared was at the top of the steps being Josh's cheerleader the entire time. Second, Jared wanted to read a book to Josh. He kept saying, "C'mon over here Josh. Come on." Josh sat for about 30 seconds and he was off again. It was really cute while it lasted. Then, Jared was making Josh laugh as he shook his bedrail while Josh was holding onto it. I caught the tail end of it on video. All of this happened within a matter of 1/2 hour. I hope the rest of the day is as happy as this.

Jared's reaction

This is the video of Jared's reaction to Jenny and Robbie's Easter goodies and also Aunt Pammy's.

Beautiful Day

I knew yesterday (due to the weather forcast) that after Josh's nap today we would spend the majority of time before dinner outside. We did and boy was it nice to be outside in the sun. We played a little bit with sidewalk chalk, walked up and down the driveway in the wagon, played baseball batter and sat in the grass. Josh found a stick that he held onto and played with the entire time we were outside. I ended up finding it in house when I was cleaning up before dinner.

Thank you

Mom Mom Kathy for Jared and Josh's goodies. Surprisingly, Jared wanted to put on the bathing suit, socks, and sunglasses immediately. This is what the ensemble looked like.
Thank you also to Jenny and Robbie for the box of clothes for Jared. He wasn't as enthusiastic when he recieved this package. You see, Jenny and Robbie send packages ALL the time for the boys and the majority of packages contain toys, tomatoes (which excites Jared as much as a toy) and clothes. When he saw that there was nothing but clothes in the box, he said, "huh, clothes?" in a high pitched voice. It was really funny. He is not ungrateful. He is just a four year old boy that is uninterested in new clothes.
Aunt Pammy also sent an Easter package for the boys that contained all sorts of goodies. I may actually steal some of the tractor stickers for a scrapbook page. Shhhh! Jared will never miss them!

Atrocious

Sorry for this blog looking a mess. I know how to post and attach a picture and that is about it. I don't know how to make the pictures side by side or anything of that nature. I guess if they are cute enough who cares right???

Sorry I've been slackin

There just aren't enough hours in the day huh? By the time the babes go to bed I am wiped and go to bed too. Josh is on top of me when I am on the computer and this thing is on it's last leg as it is so I don't want him to break it even more so I have to wait until the late evening to get on. Anyway, our Easter in Mass was a quiet one. The boys liked the contents of their baskets and Jared loved his egg hunt. The four of us ate a quiet ham dinner. I, of course, missed the noise and overcrowded Carpenter kitchen in Gloucester City while Drew was in heaven in the piece and quiet up here.

Easter Eggs

Jared was very excited to dye eggs today. We waited until Josh took his morning nap so it could get done with less distraction. We had a really good time and I think they came out pretty darn cute!

2 Sick Kids

Both boys are sick with colds. Josh has been somewhat fussy - for him anyway since he is usually pleasant all the time. Jared, the poor kid, has been wheezing since he caught his cold from Josh. We have been doing nebulizer treatments the past two days to help with his wheeze and cough. Ugh.

Phillies Fan

Jared's teacher sent home a note telling the kids to dress up in Red Sox attire for the home opener. Since we don't own Red Sox attire Jared wore his Phillies gear. Mrs. Manchester painted the kids' faces and Jared told her, "Make sure you paint a P on my face." He also told her, "The Red Sox stink." We have to stick to our Philly roots!

One cool dude!

Josh found one of Jared's pair of sunglasses and he kept holding them up to his head like he wanted to wear them. So, I put them on fo him and he didn't seem too thrilled. He took them off shortly after.

Children's Museum

Jared's most recent class trip was to the Children's Museum in Easton, MA. We had a season pass so Jared has been there many times before. He loves it each time. It is an old fire station and it has a bunch of different "rooms" with different themes. On the main floor there is a train, marble run, stage, face painting, dragons and castles, fire pole, train table, boat and a camping area. Upstairs there is a fire truck, fire station, kitchen, post office, arts and crafts, doctor's office, carpentry room and legos. The basement is set up with Ruff Ruffman paraphernalia. It is a small building packed with things to do. Jared can easily spend hours there and he cried every time we leave.
