Blue Sky

Drew, myself and the boys ventured to IKEA last weekend to return some bottles that Drew bought for his beer. I brought my camera with us because I remembered that there was a play place in IKEA that I thought the boys could play in. I didn't want to miss the opportunity to take a pic of them if they were playing together like I did at the mall. Drew complained several times about me bringing the camera with us to a store. I would think he would be happy since he paid so much money for the camera and I am getting a lot of use out of it. Anyway, the boys didn't go into the play place because you had to drop them off and Josh wasn't old enough. So much for bringing the camera into the very crowded store. On the way home the sky was clearing and the clouds just looked so pretty with the blue peeking through. I took out my camera and snapped some pics while we were on the highway driving home. Of course this annoyed Drew as well. It was fun taking pictures of something else besides the kids. I really have to start doing that more often.

A New Day

Well today, for the most part, has been a much better day. Jared was only sent to his room once (although it is only 3:40 so we still have awhile to go). Jared undressed and dressed himself and cleaned up after himself when he was done eating lunch. When I say cleaned up I mean everything down to using a sponge to clean the table. He was doing this because that is what fire fighters do. I asked him if he could always be a fire fighter and do those things and of course his answer was yes (yeah right).

What a Day

I have to laugh as I sit here and type this. We have had a trying day today. Josh has been a little fussy the past 4 or so days. I am not sure if it is his tooth that is bothering him or not but he has not been eating well and he hasn't been playing like he usually does. Anyway, I needed to go food shopping today and it is usually do-able with both boys without too much headache. Off to the store we went. Jared was well behaved, even leaving the toy section of the store, until we got to the lunchables section. He had chosen several different cracker stackers that he wanted and when he kept on choosing and I started saying no, he lost it. That is when my shopping stopped. I will not walk around a store with a crying kid so I checked out with what I already had and went home. Jared cried like a little baby while Josh sat in the cart not saying a word. Jared had to go to his room when we got home so the entire drive home he told me he was never going to come out of his room again. He told me he wasn't going to come out even when he had to go to school so I told him that I would go to jail and he decided he would come out only when he had school. He was out 15 minutes after we got home. He was fine after that and played nicely until I told him he had to clean up the 100 matchbox cars that he had dumped earlier. He didn't want to do it so he started throwing them into the bucket. Now Jared had to sit on the step. It was too cute when Josh crawled over to him on the step and started playing with him. There was a toy on the step that Jared kicked off and Josh retreived it like a little puppy dog. They continued this all while Jared was being punished on the step. 4 minutes went by and Jared was immediately put back on the step because he threw another car. Uggghhh. I can't wait until Drew comes home so I can go back out and finish my food shopping all by myself. It is sad when you look foward to food shopping. I just think to myself it could be a lot worse. Sorry there are no pictures of the pain in the butt being a pain in the butt. I don't think it is fair to take a pic of him while he is on the step.

Chair Potatoes

We went to BJ's to do some shopping and of course we had to pick up a Blue's Clue's DVD. Jared has learned that if he says, "we should get it because Josh will like it" I think it is so cute and I cave in and allow the purchase. So when we came home Jared wanted to watch the DVD immediately. I still had to unload the truck so I put the DVD in and put both kids in front of the TV (I know - bad Mom) so I would gain a few minutes to run outside without kids running after me out the door. Josh lasted in the bean bag chair for about 30 seconds.

Spots

Here are the pictures of Spots after he was seen by the "vet".

This is how we are greeted every morning and after every nap now that he can stand up by himself.

Stand Up

Josh is using everything to stand up now. I was afraid that it would take him a long time to figure out how to get down but he just leans back and falls on his "bum". Jared says, "it is a good thing he has a padded diaper on".

Brotherly Love

Jared has been getting along with Josh a lot better lately. We recently went to the play place in the mall and the boys were the only kids there. Jared wanted Josh to play with him. He took him down the slide and wanted me to lift Josh on several different apparatuses with him. I took these 2 pics with my phone and was ecstatic when Kim told me I could get them on the computer by texting them to my email (I am not that technologically inclined). Jared even wanted his picture taken with Josh. I was so thrilled. When we got home, Josh took a nap and then we ate dinner like always. When it was time to get a tub, Jared raced upstairs to play with Josh in the tub and he even washed his feet. It was such an awesome day and I won't forget it for a long time.

Jared Loves School

The past two days Jared has wanted to go to school before it was time to leave. Yesterday, thankfully, we had to go to the post office on the way (someone very lucky is going to receive a package in the mail:) so we did leave when he said he wanted to leave. Today he was very excited to get to school because he was going to pretend to be a veternarian and care for his sick giraffe (Spots). They are working on the letter "v" this week so his teacher asked for the kids to bring in a stuffed animal that needs medical attention. It was very convenient that Spots has a cough today since he is going to be seen by the vet. Jared even had Spots wear a jacket. I am hoping to take some pics when he gets home.

Make me Laugh

When I went scrapping on Saturday, Drew called me so I could hear Josh laughing histerically at Jared playing peek a boo with him. He tried it again when I was able to capture it on video and Josh did not laugh nearly as histerical as he did the first time.

Technology

Technology and I have a love hate relationship. I do not have much luck when it comes to computers. Every one that I have had has seemed to have gotten a virus or some other illness to make it crash. The laptop, that we have only had for a little over a year, is on the fritz now too. The battery will not keep any kind of charge and now the charger isn't even working correctly - this happened one other time too. I have the wire over top of a pillow as I type this b/c that is where the computer seems to like it. Once you get it to work the computer cannot be moved. My point and shoot camera is ill as well. There is a big crack in the screen (which I have no idea how that happened) and most times it will not turn on. Jared was taking pics of Josh in the tub the other night but I think it is just a coincidence that he was just using it and now it is not working. Anyway, the reason I am typing all of this is to let you know that if there aren't as many posts this is why. My point and shoot camera is what I use to get the videos on here. We have yet to figure out how to get our video camera videos on the computer as the software is not compatible with Vista. Ugh. Now that I am even more depressed (since technology is the only thing that allows me to keep in touch with my nj friends and family) I am going to push it aside and hope it works when I come back to it. (I know this is wishful thinking)

Singing Jared

Jared was watching Imagination Movers and they were singing a song to a girl about their friendship. This gave Jared the idea to sing a song about loving Mommy. Needless to say I loved it! These videos are at the tail end of the song so you can't hear much. I didn't get the camera out in time. I do like how he is swinging his arms while he is performing. He is constantly sidetracked by the TV of course.

A Day in the Life of Josh

This pretty much sums up Josh's day. He crawls from thing to thing while talking to himself. He stops occasionally to play and to open cabinets and doors. He is such a happy, easy going baby.

Watson's Pond

Because we had another nice day this past Wednesday we got together with Kim and her son, Kaden and Melissa and her son, Liam. Jared was at school while the little ones played at the park.

Let Me Out!

Poor Josh just wants to be doing everything and anything that Jared is doing so when Drew and Jared were outside brewing he wanted to be out there too.

New found toys

Josh has been finding many news things to play with these days. He has been playing with Jared's kitchen a lot now that he can get to it himself. He loves to open and close the doors to the refrigerator, stove and dishwasher (at least I think that is what they are). He has also found Kozmo's kitty door. I think Josh has opened it more than Kozmo ever did. The other night he even crawled over to my dishwasher to see what it was all about.

Brewing some IPA

Brewing beer is a very smelly hobby so Drew decided to take it outdoors. Jared brewed right along with Drew the entire time - close to 3 hours. The Trix and Captain Crunch cereal were Jared's "hops".

I'm coming to get ya

Here are some pics of Josh crawling. They are terrible pictures due to my shutter speed being too slow. They do, however, show off his goofy faces and smiles that he displays all day long.

Drew's Brew

Drew did not want me to post these pictures because he doesn't like people knowing his "business". When I told him I took pictures of his new beer labels he wasn't too happy. I wanted to post these so everyone could see his new hobby in action. For those of you that don't know Drew has started to brew his own beer. He recently purchased a turkey fryer so he can brew his beer on the deck. It really smells up the house when he does it inside. Since we had a case of mild weather this past weekend, Drew and Jared were in their glory out on the deck brewing away. I have some pics of them in action that I will edit and post later. For now here is a picture of one of the beer labels. Drew came up with the idea of using famous paintings for his labels. I think they came out really cool looking.
